Suit Filed Against San Antonio Taco Company for Salmonella Newport Contamination

Local law firm teams with Seattle-based law firm

NASHVILLE, TN - Marler Clark, a Seattle law firm nationally-known for its successful representation of persons injured in food-borne illness outbreaks, and the well-respected Nashville law firm, Branham & Day, have filed suit on behalf of Scott and Denise Brady of Lenexa, Kansas against the San Antonio Taco Company. The lawsuit claims that this restaurant chain is liable for the injuries and damages that the Brady family sustained as victims of the August 2000 Salmonella newport outbreak that sickened over two hundred people to date.

Scott and Denise Brady, along with their daughter, Sierra, ate at the San Antonio Taco Company located on 21st Avenue South in Nashville, Tennessee on August 6, 2000, at which time they consumed food that was contaminated with the deadly Salmonella newport bacteria. Both the Nashville Metro Health Department Food Protection Division and the Tennessee Department of Health Communicable and Environmental Disease Services Division have implicated the San Antonio Taco Company as the source of the Salmonella newport outbreak. Both Scott Brady and his daughter, Sierra, tested positive for the deadly bacteria and became extremely ill. Scott and his daughter each took several months to fully recover. Sierra had to be hospitalized for four days.
