R. Drew Falkenstein to Address AEHA Conference

Accomplished foodborne illness attorney R. Drew Falkenstein is a featured speaker at the Alabama Environmental Health Association (AEHA) Annual Education Conference being held this week in Florence. Mr. Falkenstein will present You Break It, You Bought it: Incentivising Food Safety by Making Restaurants Reimburse Outbreak Costs on Thursday, June 19 at 9:35 a.m. at the Marriott Shoals Conference Center, 10 Hightower Place in Florence.

Mr. Falkenstein joined the foodborne illness powerhouse Marler Clark in 2004, and has concentrated his practice on personal injury and product liability. He is currently involved in the salmonella outbreak linked to raw tomatoes, which has been documented in 23 states to date.

“We’ve been contacted by dozens of people made sick by tomatoes,” said Mr. Falkenstein from his office in Seattle. “Even more have called and visited our websites for updates and information on how to protect themselves from salmonella. We are doing all we can to get good information out and help keep the illness count from rising.”

Mr. Falkenstein and his partners at Marler Clark have focused their practice on representing individuals in litigation resulting from E. coli, salmonella, shigella, hepatitis A, and other food contamination cases. They have represented victims of nearly every large foodborne illness outbreak in the United States against such companies as Wholesale Club, Chili’s, Chi-Chi’s, ConAgra, Dole, Excel, Golden Corral, KFC, Sheetz, Sizzler, Supervalu, and Wendy’s, securing over 500 million dollars for their clients.
