About-Salmonella website is resource for victims of Cleveland-area outbreak

CLEVELAND, OH —The Plain Dealer reported today that Cuyahoga County health officials are investigating a Salmonella outbreak that could be tied to food served at the Corky & Lenny’s restaurant in Woodmere. At least six people have been confirmed ill with Salmonella infections since Monday, and lab results are pending for another four suspected cases. The Cuyahoga County Board of Health is investigating Corky & Lenny’s as the potential source of the outbreak.

With word of an outbreak comes the need for information. Marler Clark sponsors a Web site about Salmonella, a site that provides information on the symptoms of Salmonella infection, potential risks associated with infection, and links to information on prior outbreaks.

“We know that many people turn to the Web as their first source of information, and we have heard time and again how helpful the information provided on this site is,” said William Marler, managing partner of Marler Clark.

“Victims suffer from intense abdominal cramping, bloody diarrhea, and nausea. Many have to be hospitalized, and most miss work,” Marler continued. “It is natural for them to want to find out more about this illness, and we provide one of the most comprehensive resources on Salmonella that is out there on the Internet.”
