Class Action Lawsuit Filed Today in King County Superior Court Against Malt-O-Meal

The parents of 2-year-old Amelie Hinson and 17-month-old Kevin Keogh filed a class action lawsuit in Washington State Court against Malt-O-Meal, the company that recalled toasted oat breakfast cereal that was potentially contaminated with an extremely rare strain of Salmonella.

Sara Lee plant the subject of five separate recalls since 1994

Products made at a Sara Lee plant were the subject of five separate recalls, according to the USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service records. “It is unfortunate that more was not done to prevent contamination. The deaths in Ohio and New York speak to the serious nature of the current outbreak of listeria,” said William Marler.
