Wal-Mart Salmonella Outbreak - Indiana

On August 28, 2006, the Indiana State Department of Health reported that an investigation into a Salmonella outbreak in Johnson and Marion Counties had been ongoing since May. Health officials determined the source of the Salmonella outbreak to be foods purchased from the bakery and deli at the Wal-Mart store located at 1133 North Emerson in Greenwood, Indiana.

At the conclusion of the investigation into the Wal-Mart Salmonella outbreak, Indiana health officials had detected at least 84 individuals who were confirmed ill with Salmonella infections after eating foods from the Wal-Mart deli between May and August 2006.

Marler Clark filed a lawsuit against Wal-Mart on behalf of a child who became ill as part of the outbreak and was hospitalized on September 7, 2006. The firm ultimately represented individuals who were part of the Wal-Mart Salmonella outbreak, and is pursuing legal claims on their behalf.
