During an investigation into the outbreak, CCHD officials had learned that a restaurant employee had been diagnosed with hepatitis A on October 10, and was working at the restaurant while infectious. CCHD advised that anyone who had eaten at the Maple Lawn Dairy between September 26 and October 10, 2004, may have been exposed to hepatitis A. Marler Clark represented the family of an Elmira resident who became ill with hepatitis A after eating at the Maple Lawn Dairy, suffered acute liver failure, and died after several months in the
